Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 4:05 PM MST Feb. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch in effect through Tuesday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Glasgow has expanded the

* Flood Watch in effect for portions of northeast Montana
including the following areas, Dawson, prairie, Richland, and
Sheridan counties.

* Through Tuesday afternoon

* ice is breaking up and flowing along many of the rivers and
streams across the region. An ice jam has been reported upstream
of Glendive on the Yellowstone river and is moving towards
Glendive.

* An ice jam could produce a quick and sudden rise in river
level with flooding occuring with little notice.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
