Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 10:38 AM MDT Jun. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
northwestern Cascade County in central Montana...

* until 1100 PM MDT Friday.

* At 1036 am MDT Tuesday, reporting gauges indicate 4 to 8 inches of
rain have fallen along and upstream of the Sun River valley. Minor
flooding is currently occurring through the Sun River valley.
Additional rainfall amounts of one-tenth of one-quarter of an inch
are possible through this evening, with locally higher amounts.

The Sun River is now expected to reach moderate flood stage as early
as this evening, and last until late Wednesday night, with impacts
expected to homes through the River Valley as well as Montana State
Highway 200.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Moderate flooding is expected on the north side of the Dearborn
river in Cascade County.

Moderate flood stage on the Dearborn river is 8 feet.
