... Heat advisory in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a heat
advisory... which is in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening.

* Temperature... highs in the low to mid 90s combined with high
humidity levels will result in heat index readings above 105
degrees.

* Impacts... heat stress will reach dangerous levels and could
lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke for those working
outdoors.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions... if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible
and drink plenty of water.
