... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Tuesday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, including the
following areas, in southeast Louisiana, East Feliciana,
northern Tangipahoa, southern Tangipahoa, St. Helena, St.
Tammany, Washington, and West Feliciana. In Mississippi,
Amite, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Pike,
Walthall, and Wilkinson.

* Through Tuesday evening

* rain rates near or in excess of 2 inches per hour will be
common. Additional rainfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are
possible over the next 24 hours.

* Impacts include extensive street flooding, flooding of low
lying and poorly drained areas, rises on area rivers and
streams, possibly to flood levels if heavy rains persist.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
