Watches & Warnings

Blizzard Warning
Issued: 9:57 AM CST Feb. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Blizzard Warning remains in effect until midnight CST
tonight...

* timing... moderate to heavy snow will continue through the
morning... tapering during the afternoon. The heavier
accumulations will occur along the Interstate 90 corridor to
near Red Wing.

* Additional snow accumulations... 3 to 6 inches through the
afternoon and evening hours, with the heaviest totals along the
Iowa border.

* Winds/visibility... north 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph
resulting in considerable blowing snow and possible whiteout
conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions... making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If
you must travel... have a winter survival kit with you. If you get
stranded... stay with your vehicle.
