Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:52 PM EDT Apr. 26, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 11 PM this evening to
1 PM EDT Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for light icing which is in effect from 11 PM
this evening to 1 PM EDT Thursday.

Hazardous weather...

* freezing rain is expected overnight into Thursday morning over
portions of north central Upper Michigan with ice accumulations
of one-tenth to one-quarter of an inch possible. Higher terrain
locations from Negaunee westward that will have temperatures at
or below freezing would see the greater ice amounts. Rain is
expected at lower elevations closer to Lake Superior and from
   Gwinn southward.

Impacts...

* most of the ice accumulation into Thursday morning will occur
on elevated surfaces such as trees and power lines.

* Untreated roads still may develop a thin glaze on them, so
use caution if traveling especially where air temperatures
   are at or below freezing.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet,
or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.

* Prepare, plan, and stay informed. Visit www.Weather.Gov/MQT
