Issued: 3:59 AM CST Feb. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from noon EST /11 am CST/ today
to 7 am EST /6 am CST/ Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow, which is in effect
from noon EST /11 am CST/ today to 7 am EST /6 am CST/ Saturday.
The Winter Weather Advisory is no longer in effect.

Hazardous weather...

* expect snow to develop later this morning. The snow will
   increase late today and will fall heavy at times through most
   of tonight. The snow will diminish early on Saturday morning.

* The heaviest snowfall rates over 1 inch per hour will occur
   between 7 PM this evening and 1 am Saturday.

* Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will cause areas of blowing
   and drifting snow, especially tonight near Lake Superior.

* Expect 1 to 3 inches of snow today with an additional 5 to 8
   inches of snow tonight. The heaviest snow will occur over the
   higher terrain from Ironwood to White Pine.

   blowing snow increase.
