... Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Maine and New Hampshire, including the following
areas, in Maine, Androscoggin, Central Somerset, Kennebec,
northern Franklin, northern Oxford, southern Franklin,
southern Oxford, and southern Somerset. In New Hampshire,
Belknap, Cheshire, eastern Hillsborough, Merrimack, northern
Carroll, northern Coos, northern Grafton, southern Carroll,
southern Coos, southern Grafton, Sullivan, and western and
central Hillsborough.

* Through Sunday evening

* recent warm temperatures have generated significant melting of
snowpack. This melting will continue to result in rising levels
on area rivers and streams. Additionally, a strong cold front
will move across the region tonight producing locally heavy
rainfall with up to an inch possible in some locations.

* The primary flood threat will be ice jam flooding. The threat is
greatest in New Hampshire where temperatures have been the
warmest and precipitation amounts tonight will be highest.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 1 am EST Sunday.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

* Timing... through about midnight.

* Impacts... a dense fog advisory means visibilities will
frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If
driving... slow down... use your low beam headlights... and leave
plenty of distance ahead of you.

... A line of gusty showers will affect York... Oxford... southwestern
Androscoggin... western Cumberland... southwestern Franklin...
northeastern Rockingham... southeastern Coos... Strafford...
northeastern Grafton... east central Belknap and Carroll counties...

At 941 PM EST, radar indicated showers were located along a line
extending from 11 miles southwest of Errol to near Berlin to 7 miles
south of Pinkham Notch to near Epping. Movement was east at 40 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with these showers as they
exit New Hampshire and move into Maine. Widely scattered power
outages likely.

Locations impacted include...
Rochester, South Portland, Biddeford, Portsmouth, Westbrook, Durham,
Exeter, Conway, Berlin, Kittery, Bridgton, Fryeburg, Alfred, Bethel,
Sanford, Naples, Rumford, Ossipee, Northwood and Moultonborough.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these showers, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
