Issued: 7:40 PM EDT May. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
west central Baltimore County in northern Maryland...

* until 1030 PM EDT

* at 730 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Radar estimates up to 2.5
inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly.

* Some locations that are expected to experience flooding include...
Randallstown, Milford mill, McDonogh and Granite. Roadways around
Scotts Level branch from Randallstown High School to the Baltimore
beltway, and Offutt Road around Brice run are particularly prone to
flash flooding this evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect from 4 am to 10 am
EDT Friday...

* locations... low-lying shoreline in Baltimore Harbor and
Bowleys Quarters.

* Tidal departure... around 1.5 feet above normal.

* Timing... around the time of high tide early Friday morning...
which is 7:37 am at Baltimore Harbor and 8:56 am at Bowley Bar.

* Impacts... flooding is expected at the end of Thames street in
Baltimore. Water also is expected to cover the promenade at
The Dragon boat dock in the Inner Harbor. Minor flooding is
also expected in the bowley's quarters area, and minor
shoreline inundation is possible elsewhere.


Forecast tides are referenced to mean lower low water
(mllw) and mean higher high water (mhhw) unless
otherwise noted. Time of high total tide is
approximate to nearest hour. Total tide combines the
normal tide and departure from normal. Flood impact
is based on the total tide and waves where applicable.
