Issued: 4:20 PM CDT Jul. 26, 2016 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

West Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
southern West Feliciana Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
Pointe Coupee Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
Iberville Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
western East Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
southwestern East Feliciana Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* until 715 PM CDT

* at 417 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow
moving thunderstorms. Some areas have already received 2 to 3
inches rain. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory
area... especially in the Baton Rouge Metro area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Baton Rouge... Plaquemine... Port Allen... New Roads...
St. Francisville... St. Gabriel... Addis... Brusly... Livonia...
Maringouin... Fordoche... Rosedale... Grosse Tete... Morganza...
Lottie... Batchelor... Erwinville... Ramah and Bayou Sorrel.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will make minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... urban areas... highways... streets and
underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
