Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 3:57 AM CST Feb. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Areas of dense fog possible early this morning...

Much of the region has become saturated early this morning, but
clouds are expected to remain over most of the region through
daybreak. Despite the cloud cover, dense fog has already
developed in a few isolated locations. Therefore, it is likely
that areas of dense fog will continue to develop across the region
through sunrise.

Motorists early this morning should slow down and be prepared for
rapid loss of visibility when they encounter an area of dense fog.
Visibilities will likely drop to well under a quarter mile at
times. The dense fog is likely to be most widespread along
Interstate 64 in southern Illinois. Conditions should improve
around 9 am.

If the dense fog becomes widespread, a dense fog advisory may be
needed for all or a portion of the region later this morning.
