The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Clinton.
* Until Monday may 08.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to have a maximum value of 22.6
feet Tuesday evening.
* At 23.0 feet... extensive lowland flooding in progress. Much river
water runs through the wastewater treatment plant at Clinton.
Southeast side of Clinton begins to flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Montezuma.
* Until Tuesday may 09.
* At 9:45 PM Sunday the stage was 19.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 22.6 feet by
Tuesday evening. The river will fall below flood stage early
Tuesday morning.
* At 24.0 feet... floodwater is near the top of all agricultural
levees. Some County roads are impassable. High water isolates a
few rural residents. Basement flooding begins along Water Street
in Montezuma. Medusa aggregates company plant number 9 begins to
flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Covington.
* From Monday morning to Monday may 08.
* At 9:45 PM Sunday the stage was 13.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and
continue to rise to near 21.0 feet by Tuesday morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by Sunday afternoon.
* At 21.0 feet... lanes to river residences west of South River Road
south of Covington flooded. Sandhill Road at Mud Run just
northeast of Covington begins to flood. Extensive lowland flooding
in progress. Higher bottomlands flood.

the Wabash River at Lafayette.
* From late tonight until further notice.
* At 9:30 PM Sunday the stage was 8.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early tomorrow and continue to
rise to near 15.9 feet by Tuesday early afternoon.
* At 16.0 feet... lowland flooding is in progress. Flood waters near
sr 225 between old sr 25 and battleground. Warren CR 350 N near
Black Rock preserve and Tippecanoe CR 950 W in the Wabash bottoms,
janssen tract area may be impassable. Fort ouiatenon grounds begin
to flood. Flooding at the Grandville public access site.

* At 829 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that 3 to 5 inches of rain had fallen over much of the warned area
since Friday afternoon. Additional showers and thunderstorms will
continue through late tonight with the possibility of up to
another inch or two of rain in some areas. This may exacerbate
ongoing flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Crawfordsville, Carmel, Fishers,
Noblesville, Greenwood, Lawrence, Plainfield, Franklin, Brownsburg,
Greenfield, Lebanon, Beech Grove, Zionsville, Martinsville,
Speedway, Greencastle, Mooresville and Danville.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
