... Heat advisory remains in effect from noon today to 7 PM EDT
this evening...

* heat index values... are expected to be between 100 and 104
degrees.

* Timing... during the afternoon and early evening hours today.

* Impacts... heat stroke, heat exhaustion and other heat related
illnesses will be possible, especially if you spend a
significant amount of time outdoors, or are involved in any
strenuous outdoor activity.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Reduce outdoor activities, especially from mid-morning through
the afternoon. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing and
drink plenty of water. If possible, spend more time in air
conditioned or well ventilated places.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency, call 911.

east central Indiana... northern Dearborn County in southeastern
Indiana... Fayette County in east central Indiana... Preble County in
west central Ohio... western Butler County in southwestern Ohio...
Darke... western Montgomery and southern Mercer counties in west
central Ohio until 745 am EDT...

At 655 am EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a line
extending from near Portland to near Fountain City to 6 miles south
of Connersville to 8 miles southwest of Greensburg, moving southeast
at 50 mph.

Storm hazards include...
winds to 50 mph...
pea size hail...
frequent cloud-to-ground lightning...
very heavy rain...

Locations impacted include...
Hamilton, Richmond, Oxford, Connersville, Greenville, Trenton, Eaton,
Batesville, Coldwater, Brookville, Centerville, Cambridge City,
Versailles, St. Henry, Liberty, Arcanum, Camden, Lewisburg,
Hagerstown and Union City.
