The Flood Warning continues for
the East Fork White River at Williams.
* From Tuesday morning to Tuesday may 09.
* At 7:00 am Saturday the stage was 1.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Tuesday morning and continue
to rise to near 10.5 feet by early Friday morning. The river will
fall below flood stage by Monday evening.
* At 11.0 feet... during the late March 2008 flood, the Bedford times
reported the following County roads still flooded; River Road,
entire road; Bartlettsville Road, by the bridge and in the bottoms;
Judah-Logan Road, by the bridge; Logan bottoms, the gravel part;
donica Church Road, between Logan bottom and the hill; Peerless
Road, by Mica metals; little Salt Creek run; stumphole bridge Road,
near Indiana 450; Huron-Williams road; Lawrenceport road; Rivervale
Road and Earl Road.

The Flood Warning continues for
the East Fork White River near Bedford.
* From Tuesday morning to Monday may 08.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is forecast to have a maximum value of 23.2
feet Thursday early afternoon.
* At 23.0 feet... almost all County roads are impassible in the East
Fork White flood plain. State Road 37/U.S. Highway 50 is likely
the only Road open across flood plain in Lawrence County.

The Flood Warning continues for
the East Fork White River near Rivervale.
* From Monday afternoon to Tuesday may 09.
* At 9:30 am Saturday the stage was 7.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Monday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 25.7 feet by Thursday morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by Monday evening.
* At 25.0 feet... all County roads across or located in the East Fork
of White River flood plain flood. Flooding of agricultural land
becomes extensive. The County Road on Northside of gage floods and
gage may be inaccessible except by boat. Local residents in nearby
river Cabins must park on higher grounds.

the East Fork White River at Seymour.
* From this afternoon until further notice.
* At 8:45 am Saturday the stage was 5.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and
continue to rise to near 16.3 feet by tomorrow morning.
* At 16.4 feet... State Road 258 remained open after the river
rebounded quickly to this level in June 2010. State Road 258 had
been flooded a few days earlier after river crested at 17.9 feet.

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 130 PM EDT for Decatur...
southern Bartholomew... southern Martin... Lawrence... Jackson and
Jennings counties...

At 1001 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy
rainfall across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have
already fallen. Law enforcement has reported flooded roads in
Seymour. Bush creek near Nebraska has exceeded flood stage.

The additional rainfall may worsen the flooding across the area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbus, Seymour, Bedford, Greensburg, North Vernon, Brownstown,
Shoals, Vernon, Mitchell, Loogootee, Crothersville, Westport, Medora,
Elizabethtown, Hartsville, Jonesville, Millhousen, Paris Crossing,
Newbern and Tunnelton.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
