the St Joe river at St Maries.
* Until late Monday night.
* At 10:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 33.80 feet.
* Flood stage is 32.50 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rain over the last 24 hours will work through the watershed
leading to a another small rise Thursday. The current forecast shows it
peaking at 34.2 feet Friday afternoon. The river will then fall through
the weekend, and may be below flood stage of 32.5 feet by Monday afternoon.

* at 33.0 feet... water may be over St Joe city Road.
* At 32.5 feet... minor flooding will occur throughout the low lying
areas of the St Joe valley. Water will be observed behind levees
due to seepage. Minor flooding of the Aqua Park along the river's
edge. Outbuildings along the river that are not behind levees may
be flooded.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Idaho and Washington, including the following
counties, in Idaho, Benewah, Bonner, boundary, Kootenai,
Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce, and Shoshone. In Washington, Asotin,
Pend Oreille, Spokane, and Stevens.

* Through Friday morning

* additional rainfall up to a quarter of an inch will be possible
through Thursday afternoon with showers

* water tables are running high from the last few weeks of wet
weather and melting snow. Localized field flooding is already
occurring and is likely to worsen by Thursday morning. Small
streams and creeks will see increased flows. Saturated grounds
will also lead to potential mudslides in steep terrain.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
