Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 1:16 PM MST Feb. 22, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 5 PM Saturday to 5 PM MST
Tuesday...

* what... periods of moderate to heavy snow and blowing snow are
expected. Three day snow accumulations of 2 to 3 feet are
expected, with localized higher amounts in the mountains above
pass level. Travel will be very difficult to impossible.

* Where... the Idaho central mountains west of Challis and MacKay,
including but not limited to Ketchum, Sun Valley, Hailey,
Gannett, Bellevue, Galena Summit, Stanley, Banner Summit, and
Clayton.

* When... from 5 PM Saturday to 5 PM MST Tuesday.

* Additional details... winds gusting as high as 40 mph will
cause areas of blowing and drifting snow, especially over
mountain passes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow means severe
winter weather conditions are expected. If you must travel, keep
an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency. The latest Road conditions can be obtained by calling
