Watches & Warnings

Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 10:15 PM CST Dec. 10, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST Sunday...

* short term trends... a band of light to locally moderate snow
looks to continue to spread over the warned area during the
overnight hours.

* Storm total snow accumulations... additional snowfall totals of 3
to 6 inches are expected through Sunday morning... with locally
higher amounts possible resulting in storm total accumulations
of 5 to 8 inches are anticipated.

* Winds/visibility... southeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to
near 25 mph will cause visibilities to be reduced to less than
one half mile at times.

* Impacts... the primary impacts will be very hazardous travel
conditions due to reduced visibility and snow covered and icy
roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food,
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
