The Flood Warning continues for
the Iowa river at Oakville.
* Until Wednesday morning.
* At 4:00 am Monday the stage was 10.0 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* No flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, rise above flood stage this morning and continue rising
to 10.6 feet this evening. The river will fall back below flood
stage Wednesday morning.
* Impact, at 10.0 feet, minor flood stage. Minor flooding of
agricultural land is ongoing.

* Until Wednesday morning.
* At 4:00 am Monday the stage was 20.1 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast, rise to 20.4 feet this evening. Fall back below flood
stage Wednesday morning.
* Impact, at 20.0 feet, minor flood stage. Agricultural land near
the river is flooded and water covers most islands. Water starts
rising onto secondary roads in Wapello bottoms.

* At 4:00 am Monday the stage was 14.3 feet and falling.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast, fall below flood stage Wednesday morning.
* Impact, at 14.2 feet, water affects lindle Avenue and Keokuk
Avenue, both near Saulsbury park.

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening...

* heat index values... around 100 to 105.

* Timing... through this afternoon.

* Impacts... heat illnesses due to extended duration of
oppressive heat and humidity.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures and high
humidity is expected. This combination will lead to possible
heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-
conditioned room, stay out of the sun... and check on relatives
and neighbors, especially the elderly.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
