Issued: 4:13 AM CST Feb. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Blizzard Warning remains in effect until midnight CST
tonight...

* timing... snow will continue this morning, gradually tapering off
through the afternoon.

* Accumulations... additional accumulations averaging 1 to 3 inches
are possible, with the highest amounts south of Highway 18 in
northwest Iowa.

* Wind and visibility... north winds of 25 to 35 mph, with
occasional gusts of 40 to 45 mph, will be common today. Expect
areas of low visibility, especially while snow is falling.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions... making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If
you must travel... have a winter survival kit with you. If you get
stranded... stay with your vehicle.
