High Surf Advisory, Coastal Hazard Statement
Issued: 4:48 AM GMT Feb. 22, 2019 – National Weather Service

... High surf advisory remains in effect until 6 am chst
Wednesday...
... High risk of rip currents through Wednesday
afternoon...

* north facing reefs... hazardous surf of 8 to 10 feet will
continue for the next few days. Surf will remain hazardous
through next Wednesday.

* East facing reefs... hazardous surf of 10 to 14 feet is now
occurring and will continue to build over the next few days.
Surf will remain hazardous through next Wednesday.

* Hazardous surf conditions are expected to spread to south and
west facing reefs over the weekend as Typhoon Wutip moves past
to the south of Guam. A high surf warning is likely as early
as tonight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

If you have to swim out of a rip current... swim parallel to shore
and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to swim
directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly. Heed the
advice of lifeguards... beach patrol flags and signs.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.
