... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* north and central Georgia.

* Through this evening

* several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible again
today, with locally heavy rainfall likely. An additional 1 to 2
inches of rainfall is anticipated, with some isolated higher
amounts possible.

* Flooding in low lying and flood prone areas will be likely,
especially in urban areas. In addition, creeks, streams and
rivers may overflow their banks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
