Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 1:37 PM EST Feb. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for...
northeastern Broward County in southeastern Florida...
eastern Palm Beach County in southeastern Florida...

* until 530 PM EST

* at 134 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers
and embedded thunderstorms that will cause urban and small stream
flooding in the advisory area. Doppler radar estimates indicate
that one to three inches of rainfall has fallen with an additional
one to three inches of rainfall possible as the showers and
thunderstorms train over the same areas over the next few hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach and
sunrise.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
