... Showers and possible thunderstorm moving east from northeast
Connecticut...

At 437 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a shower with the
potential to become a thunderstorm. The storm was over Putnam, or 13
miles north of Plainfield, moving east at 45 mph.

The storm may produce gusts in excess of 30 mph. It will move across
northern Rhode Island by 510 PM.

Locations impacted include...
Providence, Pawtucket, East Providence, Woonsocket, Cumberland, North
Providence, Johnston, North Attleborough, Smithfield, Lincoln,
Central Falls, Killingly, Burrillville, North Smithfield, Wrentham,
Scituate, Glocester, Putnam, Thompson and Plainville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Lightning can strike far away from the storm. Go inside a building
or vehicle. Wait at least 30 minutes until after the storm has
passed to resume outdoor activities.
