Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 4:30 AM MST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to 9 am
MST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow... which is
in effect from 6 PM this evening to 9 am MST Tuesday. The Winter
Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* Locations include the cities of... Ridgway... Glade Park...
Telluride... Ouray... Lake city... Silverton... Rico... Hesperus.

* Timing... after a break in the precipitation this afternoon...
snow will redevelop this evening and is expected to continue
through early Tuesday morning.

* Snow accumulation... 10 to 20 inches with locally higher amounts.

* Winds... southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Impacts... mountain roadways will become snow packed with winter
driving conditions continuing through the weekend and into early
next week. Visibilities will be reduced to under a half mile at
times during the heaviest snowfall.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
