Issued: 11:08 AM MST Dec. 6, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 6 PM this
evening to noon MST Wednesday...

* location... Teller and northern El Paso counties including the
cities of Black Forest... Woodland Park... and Monument.

* Cause and timing... light snow will develop across the area
this evening.

* Snow accumulation... snow accumulations at the lower elevations
will range from 1 to 3 inches. For Pikes Peak... 4 to 8 inches
of snow is expected.

* Wind... southeast to east 10 to 20 mph until late tonight... then
becoming north at 15 to 25 mph across northern El Paso County.
West at 25 to 35 mph over Pikes Peak with gusts around 45 mph.

* Impact... snow accumulations will be fairly light with this
system... however the snow will combine with gusty winds to
create areas of blowing snow and bitter cold wind chills from
10 to 25 below zero. Travel will be impacted for commuters
driving through northern El Paso County Wednesday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow
around. Use caution when traveling... especially in open areas. In
addition... be prepared for bitter cold wind chills.
