Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 7:28 AM MST Jan. 17, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Hazardous travel conditions this morning...

Icy roads and dense fog are resulting in hazardous travel conditions
this morning. Visibilities are below 1/4 mile in some areas and
black ice Coats the roads. If you brake down too quickly, your
vehicle could end up spinning out of control. If you are
following too close, you could end up in a collision.

If commuting this morning, leave early, travel slowly and allow
plenty of stopping distance around your vehicle at all times. Use
your low beam headlights to help reduce glare and improve your
visibility. If you have to pull over, pull well onto The Shoulder
and turn on your flashers. If you can do so safely, leave your
vehicle and move away from the Road.

Areas of fog and black ice are expected to continue through 9 or 10
am. After that, most of the fog and ice should dissipate, allowing
for a return to more normal driving conditions.
