... High surf warning remains in effect from 4 PM Thursday to
10 PM PST Tuesday...

* surf... surf around 4 to 7 feet developing late Thursday
afternoon... then increasing on Friday to 8 to 12 ft with sets to
16 feet. Surf subsiding on Sunday to 4 to 8 ft... then increasing
again on Monday to 9 to 12 ft. Surf will slowly lower throughout
the day Tuesday.

* Tides... highest tide during highest surf will be at 435 am
Saturday at 4.6 ft in La Jolla.

* Impacts... very hazardous swimming conditions to the beaches
Thursday through Tuesday. Waves can suddenly wash people off
jetties and rocks. Large and potentially damaging surf is
possible Friday through Saturday and again Monday into
Tuesday... creating the potential for coastal erosion... coastal
flooding... and possible damage to coastal structures such as
piers. Coastal flooding will be most likely during times of high
tide. Frequent strong rip currents are also likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf warning indicates that dangerous... battering wave
will pound the shoreline. This will result in very dangerous
swimming conditions... and deadly rip currents.

... Small Craft Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to 9 am
PST Thursday...
... Gale watch remains in effect from Friday morning through
Saturday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Small Craft Advisory... which is in effect from midnight tonight
to 9 am PST Thursday.

* Winds... southeast to south winds will increase to 15 to 25 kt
with gusts to 30 kt late tonight and early Thursday morning.
Winds will diminish some on Thursday afternoon and Thursday
night then west winds will develop and increase to 15 to 30 kt
with gusts up to 40 kt are possible Friday and Friday night.

* Seas... combined seas will build to 4 to 6 feet late tonight and
early Thursday morning. Seas will continue to build to 14 to 17
feet with periods around 15 seconds by Saturday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A gale watch is issued when hazardous gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots are probable in the near future... but the specific
timing and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to
provide additional lead time for mariners who may wish to
consider altering their plans.

A Small Craft Advisory means that hazardous sea conditions will
exist for small craft. Inexperienced mariners... especially those
operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these
conditions.
