... Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Tuesday night through
late Wednesday night...

The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Winter Storm
Watch... which is in effect from late Tuesday night through late
Wednesday night.

* Snow accumulations... 8 to 12 inches.

* Winds... south 15 to 25 mph.

* Elevation... mainly above 4500 feet... but heavy snow is possible
down to 3000 feet in The Mount Shasta area.

* Timing... heavy snow should begin late Wednesday morning and
continue through much of Wednesday night.

* Locations include... high terrain of western Siskiyou
County... Mount Shasta city... McLoud... and Dunsmuir... including
Interstate 5 and Highway 89.

* Impacts... heavy wet snow may make travel difficult on area
roadways due to slick conditions and reduced visibility.
Additionally... some roads may become impassable for most
vehicles.

* stock emergency kit with tire chains, flashlight, batteries,
blankets, food, water, and medications.

* The safest place during a winter storm is indoors.
