The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
north central San Bernardino County in Southern California...
southeastern Inyo County in south central California...

* until 715 PM PDT

* at 407 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Shoshone, sr 127 near Dumont Dunes, Jubilee Pass Road/sr
178, Tecopa, and Dumont Dunes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

Clark counties...

At 214 PM PDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges continued to
indicate thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the warned area.
Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Spring Mountains Recreation Area, Mountain Pass, Sandy Valley,
and Lovell Canyon campground.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

Areal Flood Advisory, Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 3:09 PM PDT Jul. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The urban and small stream flood advisory remains in effect until
530 PM PDT for San Bernardino County...

At 305 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain and
thunderstorms have diminished over the Big Bear Lake and san
gorgonio wilderness area over the past half hour. Rain gages
indicate that half to three quarters of an inch fell in the past
hour. Minor urban and small stream flooding remains possible due to
run-off from earlier heavy rain and possible new thunderstorm
development.

Some locations that will likely experience flooding include...
Yucaipa, Big Bear City, mount san gorgonio, Forest Falls, Onyx
Summit, Lucerne Valley, Big Bear Lake, northwestern Johnson Valley,
Seven Oaks, Mountain Home Village, Hwy 38 between Onyx Summit and
Sugarloaf and Baldwin Lake.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northwest Arizona, southeast California, and
Nevada, including the following areas, in northwest Arizona,
Lake havasu and Fort Mohave and northwest deserts. In
southeast California, Cadiz basin, eastern Mojave Desert,
morongo basin, San Bernardino County-upper Colorado River
valley, and western Mojave Desert. In Nevada, Esmeralda and
central Nye County and western Clark and southern Nye County.

* Through late tonight

* any thunderstorm that develops today and tonight will be
capable of producing intense rainfall which could lead to
flash flooding in the watch area. Flooding of normally dry
washes, low water crossings, and poorly drained intersections
are likely.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

If you are in the watch area... you should closely monitor weather
forecasts and be prepared to take immediate action should heavy
rain and flooding occur or a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
