The National Weather Service in Eureka California has issued a

* Flood Advisory for rapid rises for...
southeastern Mendocino County in northwestern California...

* until 445 PM PST Saturday

* at 850 am PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain which will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Additional rainfall
amounts through this afternoon will be around one quarter to one
half inch.

The Russian River at Hopland is expected to reach 18.2 feet which
will flood State Highway 175.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
