* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for poor drainage areas

southwestern Fresno County in central California...
southwestern Merced County in central California...
northwestern Kern County in central California...

* until 100 PM PST

* at 953 am PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
Urban and Small Stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas
will result in minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Avenal, Coalinga, Santa Rita RAWS, zapato Chino creek, Spanish Lake
and Castle Mountain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening...

* winds... southeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. The
stronger winds will occur along and below the Grapevine and west
side of the valley near the coastal range where wind gusts up to
60 mph may possible at times.

* Timing... winds will continue to increase this morning and
continue through this evening.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs... trees... and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

... Gale Warning remains in effect until 9 PM PST this evening...

* winds... south winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts to 40 kt are
expected when winds are strongest.

* Seas... combined seas of 11 to 14 feet with periods around 10
seconds are expected when waves are largest.
