late Wednesday night...

The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for the Bay area and central coast of
California.

* From Wednesday afternoon through late Wednesday night

* a strong cold front will bring heavy rain Wednesday afternoon
through early Thursday morning. Urban and small stream flooding
will become likely along with rapid rises on main Stem rivers.
Small creeks and streams may rapidly rise near or above
bankfull.

* Take action now to protect property by sand bagging flood prone
locations.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.





High Wind Warning

The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued a High
Wind Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM Wednesday to 3 am PST
Thursday. The high wind watch is no longer in effect.

* Winds... south 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* Timing... from early Wednesday afternoon through late Wednesday
night as a strong cold front moves through the Bay area.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
