Special Statement
Issued: 11:09 AM AKST Feb. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Significant storms to impact Southeast Alaska mid week...

Cool air entrenched over the Panhandle will be favorable for
preciptiation to fall as snow with the next couple of weather
systems. A low developing over the northern Gulf of Alaska Monday
night will impact the Panhandle through Tuesday with the first
band of potential snowfall. The low is expected to persist over
northeastern Gulf and keep an onshore flow with snow showers
continuing. A developing wave late Wednesday night will move into
the southern half Panhandle with a significant snowfall and
potential of change over to rain for the southern Panhandle.

Timing and tracks for these systems is still uncertain so forecast
confidence is low to moderate. It is likely however, that
portions of the Panhandle will receive moderate to heavy
snowfalls.
