Special Statement
Issued: 2:57 PM AKST Feb. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Changing weather in the eastern interior this week...

A cold front moving across the eastern interior today is bringing
flurries and clouds to much of the area. Skies will clear out
Tuesday and Tuesday night allowing temperatures to fall into the
20s and 30s below Tuesday night.

A weak weather front moving across the southeast interior
Wednesday will bring some light snow to the area along with
temperatures warming back up above zero.

The flow of weather will turn southwest Thursday night and remain
southwest through the weekend. This will bring temperatures well
above normal over the interior along with periods of snow from
Thursday night through the weekend. Snow fall amounts of 4 to 8
inches are possible over that 3 day period. There is a possibility
of freezing rain in the southern interior Thursday night and
Friday as well.
