Sunday...

* what... blowing snow occurring. Snow expected. Plan on difficult
travel conditions. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3
inches, with localized amounts up to 7 inches, are expected.

* Where... St Lawrence Island and Bering Strait coast.

* When... until 4 PM Sunday.

* Additional details... winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause
areas of blowing and drifting snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means periods
of snow and blowing snow will cause travel difficulties.

... Unsettled conditions expected Sunday...

A weather front associated with an area of low pressure in the
central Bering Sea will impact St. Lawrence Island and the y-k
Delta early Sunday morning. The front will continue northwest
into the Chukchi Sea and western interior through early Monday.
Brisk southerly winds will pull warm air north, resulting in a mix
of rain and snow for most areas, particularly along lower
elevations near the coast. South facing upslope favored areas of
the southern Seward Peninsula and Nulato Hills will see some
accumulation of wet snow. A second storm system will follow in
quick succession, impacting many of the same areas Monday into
Tuesday.
