... Strong Bering storm expected Sunday...

A weather front associated with a developing storm system in the
central Bering Sea will impact St. Lawrence Island and the y-k
Delta Sunday morning. The front will continue northwest into the
Chukchi Sea and western interior through Monday. Brisk southerly
winds will pull warm air north, resulting in a mix of rain and
snow for most areas, particularly along lower elevations near the
coast. South facing upslope favored areas of the southern Seward
Peninsula and Nulato Hills will be the favored areas for
accumulation of wet, heavy snow. A second storm system will follow
in quick succession, impacting many of the same areas Monday into
Tuesday.
