Special Statement
Issued: 2:54 PM AKDT Jun. 21, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Area rivers running high...

Warmer than normal temperatures over the past several days has
produced greater than normal snow and ice melt on glacially fed
rivers. This has resulted in rising waters on the alsek,
Mendenhall, taku, stikine and other ungauged rivers. Currently,
flooding is not expected but these rivers are being closely
monitored by the National Weather Service forecast office in
Juneau.

Residents and visitors who recreate along these rivers should
remain alert for the possibility of changing conditions and watch
for updates from this office over the next few days.
