Short term...
(today and tonight)

.Dangerous heat continues....

An excessive heat warning is in effect for west central Texas on
Sunday. Hot and dry conditions are associated with a strong mid and
upper atmospheric area of high pressure and sinking air. Highs will
range from 105 to 109 degrees.

Daily record highs on July 22 for Abilene and San Angelo are 106 and
105 degrees, respectively. Both values may be exceeded this

Long term...

One more day of dangerous heat is in store across west central Texas
for Monday. The excessive heat warning will continue through 00z
Tuesday as highs will range from 105 to 109 across the area.

(Monday night through saturday)

The strong high pressure ridge currently parked over Texas will
shift west to the western Continental U.S. By mid to late week. As a result,
upper level northerly flow will develop across our area and a cool
front will move through Monday night and Tuesday. These changes
will cool the temperatures down and end the extreme heat levels.
Highs from Tuesday through Saturday will be mainly in the upper
90s to around 100. Going with mainly a dry forecast. A few showers
and thunderstorms are possible Monday night and Tuesday due to
the cool front.
