Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service San Angelo Texas
247 PM CST Sat Nov 18 2017

Short term...
(tonight through tomorrow)

Fall weather returns...

(tonight)

The cold front has pushed through the area, and based on
latest observations, winds have continued to weaken over much of the
area, allowing for the Wind Advisory to expire. An area of high
pressure will move south across the Panhandle this afternoon and
settle across the Big Country during the evening. Expect a quick
drop in temperatures after sunset across the Big Country and Concho
Valley. Clear skies with winds going calm across these ares will
allow temperatures to drop into the low 30s. Areas in sheltered
valleys could see overnight lows in the upper 20s. Locations along
the I-10 corridor will see overnight lows in the mid to upper 30s.

Forecasted overnight lows:
Sterling City 26
San Angelo 32
Abilene 34

(sunday)

Fall weather returns to the region for Sunday. After seeing record
highs on Friday, we will return to normal temperatures during the
day on Sunday. High pressure will settle across west central Texas,
bringing mostly sunny skies and light winds. Highs tomorrow will be
in the low 60s.

Long term...
(sunday night through saturday)

Quiet November forecast continues across west central Texas, with
dry northwest flow aloft prevailing across the area through mid
week. This will allow another weak cold front to move across the
area, but this will only drop temperatures from near normal to a
few degrees below normal, or highs in the upper 60s on Tuesday to
the lower 60s for Wednesday. Unlike previous years, the entire
Thanksgiving weekend looks benign. High temperatures climb back
into the 70s for Friday and Saturday, before another front drops
temperatures back into the lower 60s for Sunday. No rain in sight.
