Short term...morning update...a westerly upper level flow will
persist across the Pacific northwest through tonight. An upper level
disturbance will continue to drift east across the region today.
This system will weaken and be largely east of eastern Washington
and Oregon by sunset this evening. There remains enough moisture
over extreme northeast Oregon for the lift associated with the
disturbance to work with and cause convective development this
afternoon. Thus will continue to indicate a slight chance of showers
and thunderstorms over Wallowa County for today's afternoon period.
Elsewhere the air mass will slowly dry behind the disturbance with
only limited cloud cover possible. Winds will become locally breezy
this afternoon into the evening, especially in and near the Cascade
gaps. High temps today will be generally 2-3 degrees cooler than
yesterday, though high temps will be 4-6 degrees cooler in the
Kittitas Valley and The Gorge. Drying will continue into tonight for
fair conditions. Updates focused on removing the mention of showers
this morning over the Wallowa Mountains and adjusting the area
potentially affected by showers/storms this afternoon. Also made
adjustments to sky cover and high temp forecasts. 90

Aviation...18z tafs...VFR conditions will persist across all taf
sites for the next 24 hours. Sustained winds through this
afternoon will be 7-13 kts, except at kdls where winds will be
around 20 kts with gusts to 28-30 kts. Winds will decrease tonight
to 4-10 kts. Polan

Long term...previous discussion...forecast area will be under a
flat westerly flow Thursday night through early Saturday. Then an
upper level trough of low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska will slide
into western Canada over the weekend. This will usher in some cooler
and breezy conditions through the weekend and into the first of next
week but remain dry.
