.DISCUSSION...
A strong warming trend begins today with afternoon temperatures
reaching the middle 70s and lower 80s by Tuesday. Before then, two
small-scale waves in westerly flow are expected to generate small
rain chances late Sunday/early Monday and again late Tuesday/early
Wednesday. Lower level moisture is expected to be sufficient
mainly in areas east of I-35 where a few thunderstorms may occur.
More significant could be the heat, low humidity, and gusty
southwest winds on Tuesday which will elevate fire weather
conditions. This will be quickly followed by a cold front Tuesday
night which will bring a more mild airmass for the rest of the
week. The upper flow pattern will change to weak northwesterly and
dry with a few minor frontal passages the rest of the week. After
Tuesday precipitation chances remain low, and after midweek, a
moderate warming trend will continue into next weekend.
