.SYNOPSIS...High pressure through mid week with a dry and warmer
period. Expecting a pattern change late next week with increasing
clouds and even a slight chance for some showers over northern 
Nevada.

.UPDATE...Updated the forecast to put areas of freezing fog
completely through the next 24 hours for eastern Elko County and
northern Elko County especially near the Utah and Idaho borders.
Also included patchy freezing fog overnight in other areas of Elko
County.

.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED AT 213 AM / 

SYNOPSIS...High pressure through mid week with a dry and warmer
period. Expecting a pattern change late next week with increasing
clouds and even a slight chance for some showers over northern 
Nevada. 

SHORT TERM...Today through Thursday. Strong dry ridge over the 
Great Basin keeping valley inversions in place. Cold in the 
valleys, slightly warmer mid-slopes. Weak warming trend through 
the period.

LONG TERM...Thursday night through Monday. Models in good
agreement depicting a short wave clipping northeastern NV Friday
night through Saturday morning. This will bring the chance of
rain and snow showers to mainly northern Elko county. Upper ridge
quickly rebuilds across the area Saturday night through Monday 
for dry weather.

AVIATION...VFR conditions at all TAF sites next 24 hours.
