Short term...(this evening through thursday)
issued at 354 PM CDT Wed Jun 20 2018

A broad area of high pressure builds over the Great Lakes today into
tomorrow resulting in mainly sunny skies and mild temperatures. A
low chance for a stray shower across parts of the boundary waters
canoe area and gunflint trail region late today but otherwise the
diurnally-driven clouds will clear out and make way for a
spectacular evening across the Northland. A late-Day Lake breeze
will move inland from Lake Superior but otherwise winds becoming
calm overnight with lows in the 50s, as cool as the mid/upper 40s
near Lake Superior and especially across lower elevations along the
South Shore. A low chance for some patchy fog across these lower
elevations as well - mainly northern parts of Douglas, Bayfield, and
Ashland County.

A Strong Lake breeze develops on Thursday due the area of high
pressure becoming centered over the upper Great Lakes. Highs as warm
as the mid to upper 80s in north-central Minnesota, but along the
Lakeshore and well inland from the lake highs will be in the 60s
to low 70s. East to northeast winds will increase to 10 to 15 mph
off the Lake.

Long term...(thursday night through wednesday)
issued at 354 PM CDT Wed Jun 20 2018

The extended period will be dominated by a very broad upper level
trough that will cover almost the entire nation. Much farther to the
north will be the closed Hudson Bay low. This will put the Northland
under a very weak upper level flow, which means a fairly stable
period. A weak and shallow cold front will move south across the
region on Saturday which could set off some showers. Then it will be
back into high pressure until mid week when a much strong low
pressure area advances from the southwest.

after 18z.
