Westhampton, MA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: This young Woodpecker was at our suet feeder and when he flew away he went right into our window.Luckily he was not hurt-just stunned.I apologize if the shot is a little foggy.I grabbed my camera from in the air-conditioned house and went out into the extremely humid weather. My lens kept getting fogged up.

I love Woodpeckers, yet never been that close to one. Great shot showing the drama of being frightened and in need of safety. Fleeting moment very well captured.

Thank you Heidrun for your great feedback on this shot. This little guy flew away shortly after this shot,so I guess he was OK.

About windchimes1

Hello My name is Chrissy and I am married and a mother and grandmother. I am retired and have taken up photography as a hobby. Living in the heart of the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, there is plenty of interesting subject matter to photograph. I have discovered that taking pictures can be very addictive, so my camera is always by my side. I love seeing photography from all different areas of this country and the world, and appreciate all comments on my own pictures. This is a wonderful community and I am so glad that this site is available to share my pictures and learn, and interact with those who I now call my WU family.
