Quoting letchworth:
Would love to see the Northern Lights...do you have a bedroom to rent?? We don't get them in western NC. Great display.

Thanks for the comment. I do have to say this was probably the closest Western NC has been in a long time to being able to see them. They were absolutely amazing! As for renting, I might be able to arange it, but you may need to wait a while to see the lights. With an entire city to the north of me, this was the first I've seen them from this house in 8 years of living in it. ;-)

Glad to see the yoopers/UPers got a clear night to see the solar flare come in. My northern sky is downtown Minneapolis, alas.

About yooper90

yooper90

I live in the town of Escanaba, which is located in beautiful Yooperland, better known as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Summers here are short and cool, and the winters are not extremely cold but they sure are snowy in some areas! I love all aspects of life in the northwoods. I am not an avid photographer. In fact, I do all of my shooting with a slightly modified point and shoot Canon camera. Still, when the opportunity for a good shot presents itself, I try my best to take advantage. My favorite natural occurrence to photograph is the aurora.
