Lovely winter series! I've been going out to check, but haven't seen anything in the way of the northern lights tonight, although I did see a nice shooting star and heard a pack of coyotes yip-yipping as they ran what they hoped would be their midnight snack. So gorgeous. When I had a farm in southern Wisconsin in the 90s, I got to see a lot of really spectacular displays of aurora borealis. Since I was a freelancer, I was able to stay up all night and watch them. They seemed to march down from the north most of the time, ribbons and ribbons of them passing over us and sometimes well to the south before disappearing. Now I live in Missouri, too close to St. Louis and the light pollution kills my sky watching these days. Thanks for sharing.
