Very cool... in many ways, Susan! Have always wanted to go up on the cog railway. Climbed up through Tuckerman's in my younger days... summer time, so there was no snow. Thanks for the super shots!

Marlis..this rime ice formation is not due to any storm..it is formed purely from the low temps, the clouds, and the humidity in the air..it is not snow..that's what makes it so fascinating..lots of info in the links I posted as well as online..check Rime Ice..thanks for your comment :)

About suzi46

suzi46

Living in the mountains of Western Maine on a 15 acre 'gentleman's farm', in a hand hewn log home, has been a wonderful experience these past 6 1/2 years. But it was time to downsize and make a major lifestyle change..so that's what we did!! Going from the Mt Washington Valley region of Maine/NH all the way down to the "Horse Capital of the World"..Marion County in Central Florida! New photo ops in a totally new and intriguing area of this very large and varied state..let the fun begin!
