and a frozen one it is in and around our woodland brooks! this is a result of consistent sub/near zero temps each night, after a torrential rainstorm and 60 degrees last week..and preceeding THAT we had -26F temps!! Whew!..wild but great for an ice 'nut' like me since all this fantastic ice presents many photo ops..

thanks everyone!..I had a fantastic couple of hours out "on" the brooks today..and I do mean "ON" the brooks..they're SOLIDLY frozen on the surface..lots of rushing water can be heard beneath..tricky footing and getting around all the rocks and such, but I like getting "up close and personal" with that beautiful ice..and no I didn't have to "get on my stomach" for this shot..LOL! alittle TOO cold for that..as my hands could tell you..tough on them when the temps are only around 20F..and thanks to our dedicated Approvers for the Blue! :)

About suzi46
suzi46 Living in the mountains of Western Maine on a 15 acre 'gentleman's farm', in a hand hewn log home, has been a wonderful experience these past 6 1/2 years. The photo ops are virtually unlimited what with the surrounding working farms, dozens of lakes, ponds, and brooks, and thousands of acres of forest. Not to mention our own pond and brooks as well as extensive flower gardens, fruit bushes, vines, and trees. The views of Mt Washington and the Presidentials of NH only add to the drama! Not a bad place to be retired..and I am so glad I can share all of this with the wonderful folks on this great site..it has been a wonderful journey and learning experience thus far..and it's only getting better!
