Wind driven snow

Wednesday February 26, 2014

Meadowlands, MN (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Wind gusts over 30mph was driving the snow sideways ---you can see it spraying off the top of the 15 foot snowbanks on the sides of the highway and swirling it high in the air. The temp was about 15 degrees F. Later in the day there were whiteout conditions that made it impossible to see the road at times, and large drifts came out on the road.

Jeans~~thanks so much for your nice note! :-)

John~~it would seem we're reaping the consequences of melting polar and glacier ice in wilder weather, no?

Kathy, Both snow and cold are four letter words.
So are heat, thaw and rain.
What ever happened to global warming?

Wow! That can be a real Blinder especially with a curtain of blowing snow, and a background of huge white snow banks.
Congratulations on the VIP!

About minnesotamom

Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in northern Minnesota, USA, where the winter temps have dipped down to -60º below zero F. The summers used to be mild but in recent years have been up in the 90ºs. I love being able to travel the world from my office chair, through all your great photos! I've learned tons about photography and editing photos thanks to all the great people on here and their willingness to share tips. Thank you to all you Wunderfriends who take time to look and leave notes---I deeply appreciate it. :-)/>free hit countersCreate your own visitor map!
