For sure, Gene---it must have been really mortifying to be out there shoveling while everyone drove by gawking.

Yeah, that's gotta hurt... Even if only one's pride.

Wow, Peter, you were SOOOOO fortunate!!! Glad you made it through such a horrific mess unscathed!!
Phatkhat~~yes, the trailer looks like a Schneider but I don't know what the tractor had on it--I was by in a flash and focused on getting a shot of it instead of reading. :D
Delana~~thanks for your note and good wishes---I'm sure grateful the roads were dry and it was sunny the whole way back from Chicago to northern Minnesota. I really hate driving in bad weather on those long trips.

Yep. Hubby drives one of those, and he says if the trailer gets just a few degrees out of alignment with the tractor on an icy stretch, the result is what you see. Looks like a Schneider truck. Hubby used to drive for them, and they do a lot of training on how to handle skids, but nothing prepares you for that. Best thing is to just get off the road until it blows over. He's in Wisconsin now - has been since Friday. Bet he'll be glad to get home to Arkansas!

All happens so fast when it goes, drove right through a 30 car pile up a few years back, nobody touched me but it was just a blur of lights, steel and glass. All that because somebody missed their exit, God held my hand that night.

Thanks for your note, Steve :-) There was a storm that had rolled through the day before (the same one that hit the east coast) so he might have gone in during that. He had it all shoveled out around it already. But you're right---tough to explain!!

LOL!! Yup, sure is a bummer, hey Katy?!! :D
I sure saw a lot of vehicles off in the snowbanks on the way back from Chicago yesterday. During the night we went by a semi flopped over completely on it's side out in the cattails but I couldn't get pics. And the roads were clear, that's what was hard to understand!

About minnesotamom

minnesotamom

Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in northern Minnesota, USA, where the winter temps have dipped down to -60º below zero F. The summers used to be mild but in recent years have been up in the 90ºs. I love being able to travel the world from my office chair, through all your great photos! I've learned tons about photography and editing photos thanks to all the great people on here and their willingness to share tips. Thank you to all you Wunderfriends who take time to look and leave notes---I deeply appreciate it. :-)/>free hit countersCreate your own visitor map!
